The Historia TV Network (French-language TV station available in Canada) will be airing next Monday and Tuesday Night (Jan. 22 & 23) a two-part mini-series on Sophie, duchesse d'Alençon, one-time fiancée of King Ludwig II and younger sister of Sissi. I am looking forward to it.

Hi, I saw the tv series a few days ago, it was shown on Historia chanel and what a lot of rubbish!! Almost everything in it is false! The writers have created a monster of the Duc d'Alencon! He is seen as a mean, cruel and violent man who forced Sophie to marry him, then abused Sophie, kidnapped her children and placed her in a mental institution! Also, Sophie's "Affair" with the photographer is given way too much importance! It was a complete waste of time and effort and I wonder why with such story to tell, such natural tragedy in her life they had to make so much up and invent, not to say lie???
